I’ve been following Amarea’s case and felt compelled to mention how deeply moving it was to read about the community’s response following this tragedy. It seems like everyone who knew her, from her classmates at Old Dominion University to her fellow Army ROTC members, came together to support her family. Organizing candlelight vigils and setting up scholarships in her name are such powerful ways to honor her memory and keep her spirit alive. It just goes to show how many lives Amarea touched with her warmth and dedication. I think it’s important for us to remember these positive impacts amid the sorrow and continue advocating for the resources needed to prevent future violence. Sending strength and love to all who knew and loved her.
