I’ve been following Jamal Harvey’s case closely and I keep thinking about the community around that 7-Eleven on West Little Creek Road. Growing up in Norfolk myself, I passed that place countless times, and it’s tough to grapple with how an everyday location can become the site of such tragedy.
I can't stop wondering what could have possibly led to that confrontation inside the store. From what I’ve read and heard from folks near the area, the whole situation escalated so quickly. It breaks my heart knowing Jamal, Keyon, and their loved ones were caught in the middle of all this. It’s clear there are deep wounds here beyond just the ones inflicted physically.
For the families and friends of Jamal and Keyon, please know there’s a community of people who deeply empathize with your pain. It's important we keep discussing these issues, both for justice and to prevent future tragedies. My thoughts are with everyone affected by this devastating event.
I've been following this case for a while, and it's just so difficult to comprehend how quickly things escalated that night. I've been thinking about how the incident at the 7-Eleven unfolded in less than a minute. It's just gut-wrenching to think about how one moment can change so many lives forever. Jamal Harvey and Keyon Johnson were so young and had their whole lives ahead of them. I've read a few discussions about the time it took for emergency responders to arrive and whether quicker action could have made any difference. It's a heavy topic, but I can't help but wonder. Regardless, my heart goes out to the families and friends of both Jamal and Keyon. It's unimaginable. Let's keep sharing their stories and spreading awareness about the impact of gun violence. It’s the least we can do.
