Has anyone looked into the equipment regulations on the *Legend*? I read that sometimes vessels in the 80s didn't meet the required safety standards, and given the rough conditions near Cape Douglas, I can't help but wonder if outdated or faulty equipment might have played a role in this tragic incident. Maybe some locals or others familiar with fishing practices in that area back then could weigh in? It just feels like something didn’t add up with how quickly everything went south, and it bugs me that such possibilities might have been overlooked. I'm really interested in knowing more about the safety checks (if any) that were in place back then for fishing boats like the *Legend*. Any insights would be appreciated!
