Hey everyone, just wanted to bring up a lesser-discussed point in William A. Dundas's case—the lack of media coverage. It's baffling to me how some missing person cases get widespread attention while others, like William's, barely get a mention outside of a few databases. I mean, he vanished from Ketchikan, Alaska, in 1989, and yet there's so little ongoing discussion or media push. You'd think the unique nature of disappearing from a place like Ketchikan, with its close-knit community and geographic isolated location, would have drawn more journalistic interest. I just wonder if more media spotlight could've helped or could still help generate new leads. Anyone else have thoughts on how media attention could impact cold cases? Or know of any local news archives from that time that might have covered his disappearance?

Has anyone else looked into the mapping of William A. Dundas' last known location in Ketchikan? I was playing around with some online mapping tools and noticed that the area has really rugged terrain and dense forests surrounding it. It's got me thinking about how tough it must have been to search for him back in 1989, especially without the advanced technology we have today. If he ventured into one of those forests, it could have been easy to miss something. Does anyone know if there were extensive searches done at the time, or if that area is still part of ongoing search efforts? Thoughts?

Has anyone come across any reports or rumors about possible sightings of William A. Dundas? It's bizarre to me that after all these years, there's still so little information about his whereabouts. I read somewhere that local law enforcement was really limited in resources back in the late '80s, especially in remote places like Ketchikan. Could that have played a role in the lack of details or leads? It just feels like somebody has to know something, right? Maybe someone in the community remembers something relevant from around that time? Always hoping for a break in the case.
