I've been following the Mercedes Alcira Moore case and I'm particularly struck by the resilience that must be demanded from the family right now. An 8-year-old losing both parents in such a horrific way is unimaginable. I can't stop thinking about the impact this will have on his future. It's a chilling reminder of how domestic situations can spiral out of control, leaving a devastating aftermath for family and friends. My heart goes out to their children and to the family member who has stepped in to care for them. These kids will need a lot of support as they navigate this new reality.
