Hey everyone, just wanted to bring up something that's been on my mind about Dalon Russell's case. I know many of us have been trying to piece things together, and it's so frustrating because Dalon was just sitting in his car, minding his own business. This happened in a public space near Garfield Park, which I visited many times when I lived in Chicago. It's haunting that nobody has come forward with solid information about that vehicle or its occupants. There must have been people around, and it's a busy area. With so many eyes potentially on the scene, I often wonder if fear is what's keeping witnesses silent. It feels so dense with untold stories that might never see the light of day. I keep hoping that someone, maybe a passerby or even those nearby in another vehicle, might remember something and find the courage to speak up. Dalon and his family deserve justice, and each unsolved case like his just leaves another family trapped in unanswered grief. I continue to hold on to the hope that our collective voice here can bring some attention back to his case. Thoughts and prayers to his family and everyone affected by the violence in Chicago.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the case of Dalon Russell, who was tragically gunned down back in 2008. It’s so unsettling how someone can be taken away so violently and yet remain unsolved for so long. I’ve always wondered if there was any significance to the location near Garfield Park where he was killed. It makes me think about whether or not this was a random act or if maybe Dalon had some reason to be concerned about his safety. Did he know the people in the other vehicle? Was he targeted for any particular reason? It seems like an impossible puzzle with so many missing pieces. My heart truly goes out to his family and friends who have had to grapple with not only his loss but also the lack of answers. It’s stories like these that remind us of the realities countless families face, hoping for justice and closure amidst such immense tragedy.
