I've been reading up on the tragic case of Officer Anthony Lordi, and something that really stands out to me is the dedication of the Hillside community in preserving his memory. It warms my heart to see how they’ve honored him, not just with the monument outside the police department, but by renaming Highland Avenue to Patrolman Anthony Lordi Way. This is a beautiful testament to his bravery and the ultimate sacrifice he made for the safety of others. His family must be truly proud yet still deeply affected by the senseless act that took him away from them. I can’t even begin to comprehend the pain they must have felt, especially facing holidays and milestones without him over the years. It’s powerful to think that even after all these years, the community continues to remember and celebrate his life and service. Sending thoughts to his loved ones and the Hillside Police Department.
