I've been thinking about Detective Mallen's sacrifice and the little things the family had to deal with after his passing. It must have been so tough for his wife and kids to manage daily life after such a loss. I can't help but wonder how they coped with all the reminders and the new reality after losing someone so central to their lives. The loss of a parent at such young ages for his kids is unimaginable. I hope they had a strong support system around them during those tough times. It makes you appreciate the unseen burdens that families of law enforcement officers carry, often silently and with such strength. It's a stark reminder of the enduring bravery not just of those who serve, but of their loved ones, too.
