I've been delving into this case, and one thing that really stands out to me is the terrifying arsenal Joseph Harris brought with him. It's chilling to think about the level of planning and intent involved. From homemade bombs to the samurai sword, who thinks to have a combination like that? It's frightening to consider how someone can accumulate such a range of lethal weapons, and even more so, decide to use them on colleagues. My heart truly goes out to all the victims and their families, who had no way of knowing they’d be facing such a threat simply by going to work. I'm curious if anyone knows more about how workplace protocols may have changed since then? Hoping something positive came from such a senseless act.
I recently stumbled upon some old news articles about the tragic events that took place on October 10, 1991, in Ridgewood, NJ. Donald McNaught's death really struck me. I'm curious if anyone else has dug into the backgrounds of the victims rather than just the killer, Joseph Harris. Does anyone know more about McNaught's life outside of this terrible tragedy, like his hobbies or how his friends and family described him?
From what I gathered, Harris’s actions were terrifying, and it seemed he had a history of violent behavior. The fact that there were so many red flags leading up to that day is baffling and deeply troubling. It makes you wonder about the systems in place back then to deal with such threats. My heart goes out to all the families affected by this senseless act. It's hard to imagine the pain they must have endured and continue to live with. Would love to hear other thoughts or any additional info anyone might have come across.
