Just stumbled across this case of Lieutenant Kenneth Dechen and couldn't help but think about how important gun safety training and procedures are, even for seasoned officers. It's a somber reminder that these brave individuals put themselves at risk in ways we sometimes overlook. Lt. Dechen's 23 years of service speak volumes about his dedication and skill, yet accidents can happen to anyone. My heart goes out to his family, especially his wife and kids. They must be incredibly strong to handle such an unexpected loss. It's comforting to see the community rallying around them, but it just feels so unfair for something like this to happen to someone who devoted his life to keeping others safe.
