Given that Special Officer Reeves was trying to de-escalate a situation involving students, it makes you reflect on the tough positions school officers can find themselves in. They often act as both protectors and peacemakers. It's heart-wrenching to think that his effort to bring calm and safety to those kids ended like this. I hope the students who were there have found some peace and healing over the years. It's also a stark reminder of the ripple effects of violence and how it impacts not just those directly involved but an entire community. My thoughts are with Officer Reeves' family and everyone close to him. His legacy and the courage he showed that day won't be forgotten.
