Has anyone else read about how Errick Young tried to escape during his arrest? I can't help but think about the desperation someone must feel to jump out of a second-story window. It's mind-boggling to consider how a custody dispute escalated to this level of violence and tragic loss. My heart goes out especially to Benjamin's family—having to see the man responsible for his death both evade capture and then attempt such a dramatic escape must have been incredibly distressing. The whole incident is a grim reminder of the need for peaceful conflict resolution, especially when children are involved. It’s reassuring, at least, that law enforcement worked so diligently to bring Young into custody. I hope Benjamin’s family finds some measure of peace as they continue to cope with his loss.
