I've been reading through the details of Ralph Dennison Jr.'s case, and one thing that really stands out to me is the fact he was just listening to music, probably lost in his own world, when the attack happened. It's heart-wrenching to think he didn't even see it coming. Walking down the street with headphones on is something most of us have done without a second thought. It just makes me so sad to see how vulnerable we can be, even in seemingly ordinary moments. I can't begin to imagine what his family has gone through these past years, waiting for any sort of justice or closure. It’s a reminder of the safety issues that need addressing in Paterson and other cities struggling with gun violence. I really hope that one day there'll be some answers for his loved ones.
