Hey everyone, I recently came across the case of Patrick and James Weber and was struck by the reports about the weather conditions on the day they disappeared. From what I’ve gathered, the water around Atka can be really unpredictable and treacherous. I know the Coast Guard conducted search and rescue, but does anyone have more info on how extensive their efforts were, like how long they searched and what areas were covered? Maybe someone with Coast Guard knowledge could weigh in on how these operations tend to go? It’s just so baffling that no trace of them was ever found. Would love any insights or thoughts! Thanks in advance!

I've been diving into the case of Patrick and James Weber, and one thing that's been on my mind is the weather conditions the night the Betty B capsized. Does anyone have information on what the weather was like off the coast of Atka around June 26, 1991? I've read that rough seas can significantly hinder search and rescue efforts, which makes me wonder if that could have played a role in them not being found during the Coast Guard's search. Any insights or local knowledge would be greatly appreciated!
