Has anyone looked into the weather reports around Atka on 06/26/1991 when James and Patrick Flanery went missing? I'm curious if there were unusual conditions that day that might have contributed to the Betty B striking a rock and capsizing. I know weather can change quickly at sea, and a sudden storm or rough seas might have played a role. It makes me wonder if the Coast Guard faced any additional challenges during their search and rescue efforts because of the weather. Would love to hear if anyone has insights or similar cases where weather played a critical part.
