I’ve been following the Michael Gibbs case closely and something that sticks with me is the location of the shooting. Jackson Avenue and Bond Street in Elizabeth seems like such a busy area to have something like this happen. With so many people potentially around, it surprises me that the motive behind the shooting remains such a mystery. It’s tragic that someone can be taken away in a place that’s supposed to be part of a community.

Did anyone else follow the bizarre aspect of this case involving the escape attempt by Jihad Holmes? I remember hearing about how he allegedly tried to escape police custody in May 2015 shortly after his indictment was announced. Apparently, he made a break for it during a courthouse transfer. Given the serious charges he was facing, it seems like desperation set in. It's so hard to imagine what was going through his mind at the time. Though he was quickly caught and secured, it just added another layer of chaos to this already tragic situation. My heart goes out to Michael Gibbs' family who must have been dealing with so much already, only to hear about such disruptive events. Has anyone heard of updates or further details about this escape attempt?
