Hi everyone,
I've been following the Fortino case closely and something that's been on my mind is the community's response. It's clear that Vernon, NJ, is a close-knit place, and the shock waves from Cindy and Dean's tragic deaths were deeply felt. I keep wondering about how their two young children are coping and the support they're hopefully getting from their grandparents and the wider community.
It seems like a situation where everyone would want to rally around the family, but I worry about the long-term impact on those kids, especially with so many unanswered questions. From what Cindy's cousin Pam mentioned, the Fortinos were really active in their children's lives. Imagining the kind of community they might have had - playdates, school events, neighborhood gatherings - my heart goes out to everyone trying to continue on without this family.
Has anyone from the area heard if any support groups or memorials were arranged following this tragedy? It might be a way for those who knew them to share memories and support one another. Keeping the memory of Cindy and Dean alive and ensuring their children are surrounded by love feels so important right now.
Thanks for any thoughts or info, and sending my prayers to all affected.
Take care,
