Is anyone familiar with tracking ocean currents in the area where Bob fell overboard, 70 miles north of Cold Bay? I'm trying to understand how the currents might affect the search efforts. If he didn't have flotation gear, it seems like the currents would play a big role in where he could have ended up. I've read that water temperature and currents can make a huge difference in searches like these. Any oceanographers or locals who can shed some light on this?
I've been following Bob's case closely, and something just popped into my mind. It’s bugging me how he was allowed to be on the deck without any flotation gear on. I mean, isn’t it standard protocol on a vessel, especially so far out like 70 miles north of Cold Bay? Could this be a policy oversight, or did he just slip through the cracks that day? It makes me wonder about the crew's responsibility and how often these safety checks are overlooked on boats. Would love to hear if anyone else has information or insight about how stringent these safety measures actually are on similar vessels!
Hey everyone,
This situation with Bob who fell overboard near Cold Bay is getting more puzzling the more I read about it. I've been checking weather reports from that time, and it seems the water conditions were particularly rough. It's hard to imagine how anyone could navigate those waves without flotation gear. Has anyone come across details about what the crew was doing at the time? Were they aware immediately when it happened, or was there a delay in alerting the coast guard? It's so difficult to piece together what might have happened out there. Thoughts?
Thanks!
