I’ve been following the St. George case for a while now, and something that's always struck me as strange is the discovery of the empty life raft. If the crew had the time and presence of mind to deploy it, where did they go? Was it a sign they tried to escape the sinking vessel, or did something stop them from making it onto the raft? It’s chilling to think about the possibilities, especially considering the harsh conditions in that area. I know the Coast Guard did extensive searches, but I wonder if local knowledge or help from nearby fishing boats at the time could’ve made a difference. Thoughts on why the raft was empty?
Has anyone dug into weather reports from the time the F/V St. George went missing? I've heard that conditions can be brutal in that area, but I'm curious if there were any specific anomalies or storms during that period which could have contributed to this tragedy. It’s puzzling how both the vessel and the crew could vanish without a trace, especially with a life raft found later. Did they ever find any other equipment or signs of what might have happened? Hey everyone, I’ve been following the case of the F/V "St. George" and its missing crew for a while now. One detail that’s been sticking with me is the discovery of the empty life raft on January 5th, 1992. It makes you wonder about those crucial minutes – did the crew manage to get into the raft at some point, or was it deployed after the sinking?
