I've been following Corey Basden's case for a while now, and I keep coming back to a question about safety at the VFW post on Corlies Avenue. It's concerning to hear that this was the second shooting in just five months at the same location. I can't even begin to imagine the fear that must linger in the neighborhood when such violence occurs so close to home. It's deeply troubling that a place meant for community gatherings could become a scene of tragedy like this. I'm wondering if there have been any initiatives or steps taken by local authorities or the VFW itself to address safety concerns. Are there discussions about increasing security, or have there been community meetings to talk about how to prevent such incidents in the future? My heart goes out to the families affected, especially Corey's family. No one should have to fear for their life, especially in a place that's supposed to foster community and support. If only more could be done to ensure these places are truly safe havens for everyone.
