I’ve been thinking about the impact Barry Bianchi had on the Bergen County parks, especially Van Saun. It’s a place that so many people, including kids and families, enjoy on a daily basis. It’s hard to believe that someone who dedicated their life to such an important public role could be struggling so much internally. The fact that this happened in the very park he helped maintain is just such a stark and somber reminder of how we often never truly know the battles others are facing. I feel for the community and everyone who knew him well. Has anyone heard if there are any plans to honor him, maybe a memorial or something at the park? It just seems appropriate to remember him for all the work he did in his 27 years.
