It’s been a few years since Derron Roane was tragically ripped from his family, and the pain just doesn’t seem to ease. I keep thinking about his loved ones, having to face every day knowing there’s still no justice for him. Those of us here in New Jersey, and especially in Newark, were left reeling that night as we kept hearing about shooting after shooting. It’s unnerving that no arrests have been made, and I can't even begin to fathom how hard that is for the families involved. I was recently reading about how close Derron was to his family and his dreams of building a better future. It’s truly devastating to think how his potential was snatched away so senselessly. The fact that the motive remains unclear makes the situation even more painful. We all hope someone out there has the piece of the puzzle that can finally bring some peace to Derron’s family and help prevent such violence from happening again. Please, if anyone knows anything, reach out to authorities. It’s never too late to do the right thing.
