Hi everyone, I've been following the tragic loss of Anishalee Cortes and couldn't help but think about the systemic failures that seem to be at play here. It’s deeply upsetting to see how Anishalee did everything we tell victims to do—she reported the assault, got a restraining order, and yet it wasn't enough to keep her safe. It really makes me wonder about the support systems in place for domestic violence victims. Do restraining orders offer protection, or just a false sense of security? There needs to be a stronger focus on holding offenders accountable and ensuring that victims have real, tangible ways to protect themselves. It's a devastating reminder that the system needs reform to truly safeguard individuals like Anishalee. My heart goes out to her family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. They deserve justice, and Anishalee deserved a future free of fear. Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts on how we can push for change in this area.
