Has anyone else noticed how the community response to Shahad Smith's murder has been intense but seems to lose momentum? It's so upsetting how quickly these stories can fade from public awareness, especially without any arrests. I read that Senator Cory Booker spoke out, which is great, but what's next? We need ongoing advocacy for victims and their families. The whole city should rally around Shahad’s memory and use it as a catalyst for change. It makes me wonder, are there any local groups or initiatives trying to keep the focus on this case and push for justice? Does anyone have updates on what’s being done at the community level to support his family or to tackle the broader issue of gun violence in Newark?
