I've been thinking a lot about the impact of neighborhood safety on crime resolution. In David Hresil's case, it's troubling how a young person's life was cut short in broad daylight and yet remains unsolved. West Lawn, where David was killed, is often described as a close-knit community. It's hard to understand how someone could commit such a senseless act without being noticed. I wonder if the dynamics of the community have changed since 2009. Are people still afraid to come forward with information? Or maybe there’s a sense of hopelessness about whether speaking up will lead to actual justice. It breaks my heart for David’s family. They’ve lost someone irreplaceable, and the idea of trying to heal without answers seems almost impossible. It would be enlightening to hear from anyone who lived in West Lawn around that time. Would love to know more about the neighborhood atmosphere and how it's changed or stayed the same over the years.
