Was reading up on the case of David L. Haynes, and it really got me thinking about the role of witness cooperation in solving these tragic crimes. It must have been incredibly tough for those who were around when it happened, especially if they were too frightened to speak up. The fear of retaliation is very real and weighs heavily on communities grappling with violence. I wonder, has there been any progress over the years in terms of witness protection or programs designed to encourage people to come forward? It's so sad to think that vital pieces of information could go unshared out of fear. My thoughts are with David's family and friends who had to endure such a senseless loss.
