I came across some discussions about Shahid Malik Salaam's murder, and it got me thinking about the broader issue of gun violence in Newark. It’s truly sad to see another tragedy unfold in our community. It feels like every time something like this happens, we're reminded of how urgent it is to address this problem. I’m wondering if anyone has thoughts on what we might do as a community to combat this violence and prevent such heartbreaking losses in the future? I know there are no easy answers, but perhaps local groups or initiatives could be supported more? Let’s keep Salaam’s loved ones in our thoughts, and try to find ways to make a change.
