I've been following the case of Mashaun Love, and it really got me thinking about the community impact these tragedies have. Just thinking about his family having to live through that pain is devastating. What stands out to me is the real lack of support and resources in areas like the West Side where neighborhoods had been struggling. There were so many systemic issues at play back in 2009, and unfortunately, families like Mashaun's paid the highest price. I remember reading how that year was particularly rough for Chicago in terms of violence. It's a stark reminder of how much work still needs to be done to address not just the violence, but the underlying problems that fuel it. My heart goes out to all those who knew and loved him, as well as everyone else impacted by those difficult times.
