Hello everyone, I’ve been diving deep into the pieces of Abe Axler's story, and one thing that really sticks out to me is the timing of his murder. Just before the official end of Prohibition, when the criminal world was about to shift dramatically, Axler and Eddie Fletcher allegedly tried to seize control of the narcotics trade. Was it desperation, ambition, or both? With the Italian Mafia already wary of competitors, maybe they saw this as the perfect time to eliminate a rising threat like Axler. Anyone else think the timing of his murder was as strategic as it was brutal? Also, I can't help but wonder about his family during this time. Navigating life alongside a figure as notorious as Axler must have been incredibly challenging, even more so after his violent death. If any of you have come across info about his family or how they fared post-November '33, I’d be really interested to know more. Stay safe, everyone.
