Hey everyone,
I’ve been doing some digging into Robert Clay Sumner’s case and something that really stands out to me is the lack of media coverage at the time. It’s so difficult to imagine his loved ones going through such a loss with barely any information available to the public. It makes me wonder if there were even any local news reports or public appeals back in ‘87. Could this be why there’s such a scarcity of information online now? If anyone in the Detroit area has recollections or news clippings from that year, it could be a valuable piece of the puzzle. Sending my thoughts to his family and friends who must be missing him dearly.
Does anyone else find it puzzling how little information there is about Robert Clay Sumner's death? It just feels like his case might have slipped through the cracks over the years. I know it was back in 1987, but even then, you'd expect more details to have surfaced by now if there was any kind of investigation. My heart goes out to his family and friends who might still be looking for answers. Maybe someone with access to local records or newspapers from that time could shed some light on what happened? It’s important we remember his name and story and hope that someday the truth comes out. Anyone else here from Detroit who remembers anything about this case?
