I've been thinking a lot about the water in the area where Lauren was last seen. Given that the Nenana River flows into Seventeen Mile Slough, which can have pretty strong currents, I wonder if it's possible she was pulled downstream much farther than anyone initially thought. Even in mid-August, the water could have been cold enough to affect a young child. Has there ever been a thorough search downriver or along the banks far from the original search area? It's just baffling to think that with people around, no one saw what exactly happened to her. If anyone's local or has experience with searches in such waterways, I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on the challenges faced.
Hey everyone, I stumbled across a case that seems to have a few missing pieces, and I'm curious to hear your thoughts. It's about a girl named Lauren who went missing back in August 1997. She was seen wading in a tributary of the Seventeen Mile Slough near the Nenana River. What caught my attention is that she was with her siblings and friends when she disappeared.
It's really puzzling to me how she could have vanished without a trace when she was not alone. Given how kids can be explorers and daydreamers, I'm wondering if there's a chance she wandered off somewhere deeper into the nearby woods or if there's something about the river currents that might explain this. Does anyone have any insight into the area's geography or could suggest why this spot might be particularly tricky or dangerous? Any locals or people who’ve been down there have thoughts to share?
