I’ve been following Mevlin’s case, and I've been really puzzled about the boat they were using for the journey from Wales to Diomede. Does anyone know if it was common for groups to make that trip in the type of boat they were using? I’m trying to understand if it’s a risky route or if people do it often without issues. Maybe it was an unusually bad day for weather? I can't find any info on whether the conditions were reported as dangerous at that time. Would love to hear thoughts or if someone from the area could shed some light on typical travel between those locations.
