I've been following the tragic case of Keiph Jenkins, and something that's been on my mind is the role that community plays in these investigations. It seems like in high-crime areas like where Keiph was found, people often feel caught between wanting to help and being afraid of retaliation. It’s a tough spot to be in. I wish there was more we could do to encourage people to come forward safely to help both in cases like Keiph’s and in preventing further violence from gripping these neighborhoods. The fact that Keiph’s family never gave up in their pursuit of justice is so admirable. Their strength in the wake of his loss is beyond commendable, especially given how often these cases can fall through the cracks when there's limited evidence. I just hope that the community, law enforcement, and city leaders continue to work together, not only to solve crimes but to prevent other families from experiencing such a terrible loss. It's crucial for everyone to feel supported, from those who are directly affected to the broader community that feels the ripple effect of violence.
