Hi everyone, I stumbled upon the case of missing fisherman John from the Crabber Lin J, and I can't stop thinking about the dangers of sea icing in that area. I did some research, and it seems like heavy icing can drastically change the boat’s stability and weight, making it super dangerous. Has anyone here experienced similar sea icing conditions near St. Paul Island or know more about how crews typically handle situations like that? It's terrifying to think how quickly things can escalate out there.

Hey all, I've been following the case of John's disappearance from the Crabber Lin J, and something keeps bugging me. Has anyone else noticed how quickly the boat seemed to be affected by the sea icing? I've read a bit about it, and it can happen fast, but from what some of the locals say, it was unusually rapid that day. Could there have been something off with the vessel that made it more susceptible? Or maybe weather reports underestimated the freezing conditions? Just speculating here, but I think it's worth considering how those factors might have played a role. Thoughts? Keep sharing any updates you have.
