I’ve been following Marvin Dennard Lewis Jr.’s case for a while now, and I can’t shake the feeling of how isolating it must be for his family not having answers after all these years. I mean, here you have a young man, only 29, who seemed to have a whole life ahead of him, remembered warmly by so many, and yet there’s just a deafening silence when it comes to who did this and why.? It's infuriating and sad to think his family can't find peace because the person responsible is still out there.
I find myself wondering about the Co-op where he was found. Is it known for being a high-crime area? Was Marvin there to see someone? Maybe looking into the relationships he had could shed some light. Anyone from Pontiac familiar with the neighborhood dynamics at that time? It seems like someone must have seen or heard something, even if it feels like we’re looking for a needle in a haystack. Sending love to those who knew him, hoping somehow the truth comes to light. ??
I've been thinking a lot about Marvin Dennard Lewis, Jr., or "Gucch" as folks knew him, especially when considering where he was found. The Woodland Square Co-op had some issues back in 2018, and it's such a shame because Marvin was someone who seemed to have had a genuine impact on the community around him. I didn't know him personally, but reading about his life, you've got this feeling that he was loved and respected by many.
It's frustrating to see no progress all these years later, and I can only imagine how incredibly tough this is for Marvin's family and friends. The pattern of violence in Oakland County in 2018 really makes you wonder why it continues and what can be done to turn things around. Is it related to policing, community services, or something else entirely?
Has anyone seen any recent community efforts or initiatives that aim to curb this violence? It would be great to hear that there are steps being taken, even if we're not there yet regarding justice for Marvin and others in similar situations. Sending love and strength to all those affected by these senseless tragedies.
