Has anyone else been following the Javionne Trotter case closely? I just can’t shake the feeling of how these young lives could’ve ended so tragically over something as unnecessary as an illegal gun trade. What's been standing out to me is the role of social media in the whole scenario—like, how easily these connections to swap firearms were made. It’s chilling to think about how online platforms can facilitate these dangerous meetings. It really makes me wonder if there’s more that could be done to monitor or prevent such things from happening in the first place. Sending love to Javionne and Deonta's families and friends who are dealing with an unimaginable loss. It’s hard not to think about how different things might have been, had this meeting never been set up. If anyone has thoughts on how these social media connections could be better regulated, I'd love to hear your insights. Stay safe, everyone.
