I’m thinking a lot about the community's role in the aftermath of violent crimes like Tyrie Fulgham's tragic death. Tyrie was clearly loved and respected by those who knew him, and it’s evident that his loss deeply affected the Muskegon Heights community. It's important to consider how the neighborhood can come together to support each other and to heal after such a loss. Tyrie’s loved ones, including his girlfriend who witnessed such a traumatic event, need more than just justice in court. They need ongoing support from friends, family, and even strangers who understand the weight of their experience. While the justice system works on holding Mr. Robinson accountable, maybe it's also time to think about how to foster healing and safety in the community? Would love to hear thoughts from others on what communities can do in the wake of such tragedies to honor victims and support their families. It’s a difficult journey, but coming together could make a real difference for those who are grieving.
