This was a prior conflict that just went way too far. Why is it some young people resort to such extreme measures? This is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Was there no other way out? Was there no other way to resolve this?
It's hard to wrap my head around the pain the families must be going through, especially knowing that Trevaughn, Rashawn, and DeShawn lost their lives in such an unexpected and violent way. As someone who frequents that area, it's chilling to think about what happened at that White Castle. I can't imagine how it must feel for the families involved to know that the place holds such a tragic memory.
Something that I've been pondering since reading more about the case is the dynamic between DeShawn and Wilbourn-Little. From what I gather, there was some animosity between them, but what could have led Wilbourn-Little to jeopardize so many lives over this? It's baffling the extent people go when blinded by hate or anger.
I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting to understand what fueled such senseless violence. My thoughts go out to all the families affected. I hope that as the community processes this, we can come together to find ways to prevent such tragedies from happening in the future.
