I'm still trying to wrap my head around the senseless loss of Hortense Williams, or "Aunt Sister" as many knew her. I've been following her story, and it breaks my heart every time I think of her family gatherings now without her warmth and laughter. What a beautiful soul she seemed to have been, always welcoming and full of life. One thing that particularly struck me was her passion for home decorating. It's such a special talent to have, creating spaces where everyone feels comfortable and at home. I can only imagine how inviting her home must have been, filled with love and her personal touches. It's hard to fathom that such a vibrant person, who nurtured her family and community, was taken in such a brutal way. I truly hope the remaining family members have found some comfort in the community's support and the guilty verdict. If anyone else here is from Saginaw or has been involved in similar cases, how do communities heal after tragedies like this? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
