Has anyone dug into the weather conditions on the day the Arctic Rose sank? I know the Bering Sea can be notoriously dangerous, and sudden storms aren't uncommon. Did they have any indication of bad weather before heading out, or were they just caught off guard in rough seas? I wonder if weather reports could shed some light on what might have happened to Michael and the rest of the crew. If anyone has more info or resources, please share!

I was reading about the Arctic Rose tragedy, and I can't stop thinking about how remote that area is. Being 205 miles northwest of St. Paul Island is a huge distance, especially considering how often weather conditions can change so abruptly in that part of the Bering Sea. It must be incredibly challenging for search and rescue operations. Does anyone know how extensive the search efforts were for Michael immediately after the vessel sank? I’m curious about what kind of resources were available given the harsh environment, or if there were any local fishing vessels that might have been nearby to assist. The thought of being out there, so far from immediate help, just gives me chills.
