I’ve been following the case of the Arctic Rose, and I stumbled upon a detail that I haven’t seen much discussion about. Alejandro’s family mentioned that he had been trying to bring a camera on board to document life on the vessel. Oddly, the day before the ship sank, he called his brother from St. Paul Island and seemed unusually optimistic about the trip, mentioning new opportunities. Was there something new happening on the Arctic Rose that motivated Alejandro to document this trip, or was it just a random decision? Does anyone know whether the camera was recovered, or if it might have some hints or clues about what happened? It's incredibly puzzling.
Hey everyone,
I've been digging into the Arctic Rose disaster, and something that's been bothering me is the communication cut-off. From what I understand, the vessel went down without any distress signal being sent out. It just vanished off the radar, and that seems so odd to me. I can't help but wonder why there wasn't time to call for help. Were there mechanical failures? Did the crew know something we don't? It's just so strange to think that a boat could go down so quickly and quietly. Anyone have thoughts on this or maybe know more about how these systems generally work?
