I cannot stop thinking about the constant cycle of violence affecting our community. I just found out about the shooting on North Sixth and Ferry streets, and it's even more disturbing to hear it's linked to the tragedy that involved Farries Maxwell a month earlier. My heart goes out to Ra'Quon's family and friends who are dealing with this unimaginable loss.
What concerns me is the potential for further retaliatory acts. We've already had more incidents of shots fired after Ra'Quon's passing, and it's terrifying to think this could continue. We need to support each other and provide whatever information we have to help the police. This is happening in our own backyard, and the last thing we need is more families suffering.
The police need our help, and from what I understand, they have made it easy for people to submit tips while remaining anonymous. If you know something, please consider reaching out. We have to break this cycle of violence before it claims even more lives.
