I've been digging into the Pearl High School shooting case, and something that's really struck me is how quickly Joel Myrick acted that day. It's hard not to think about how much worse things could have been if not for his bravery. The fact that he managed to confront and stop Woodham with just a few moments to spare is incredible. My heart goes out to all the families affected, especially Lydia Kaye Dew's. It must bring some comfort to them and the community knowing that someone was there to step in and potentially save more lives. This case really makes you think about the importance of having resources within the school environment that can respond quickly in emergencies.
