Has anyone else been thinking about the lack of a bulletproof vest in Deputy Hisaw's case? It's just so tragic and makes me wonder about the protocols in place at the time. I know hindsight is 20/20, and we can't change the past, but it really breaks my heart to think what might have been different if some additional precaution had been taken. It's clear how dedicated he was to protecting the community, and it's truly sad that something like this could have possibly been avoided. My thoughts go out to his family and all those who worked with him. I hope that, in some way, procedures were re-evaluated afterward to prevent another incident like this. His sacrifice should never be forgotten.

I've been thinking a lot about the fact that Deputy Hisaw wasn't wearing a bulletproof vest when he responded to that call. It really makes me wonder about the policies or budget constraints the department might have had at the time. It's tough to imagine being in such a risky line of work without that critical layer of protection. I can't help but think about how many officers face similar situations with limited resources. Even though it's been years since this tragedy, I truly hope changes have been made to better equip and protect the officers who serve. My heart is with his family and colleagues who still feel his loss profoundly.
