Reading about Eldra Gibson and the others really hits hard. Thinking about Eldra's decision to set up those surveillance cameras as a precaution only to have them capture such a tragic event makes it all the more chilling. It feels like he was trying to protect himself from something he sensed was coming. I'm relieved justice was served with the conviction of Javondus Beasley, but it doesn't bring Eldra or the others back. Jackson has seen its share of violence, but this incident underscores a much deeper issue in the community. My heart goes out to all the families touched by this tragedy. How one person could cause so much pain is beyond comprehension. I hope this case serves as a wake-up call for change in the area.
