Hey folks, I've been following the case of the two men who went missing near Horse Island, and it's got me going down the rabbit hole about unconventional search methods. I read somewhere that the Ralstons previously helped find Charles Jacobs using side scan sonar. I'm curious about how effective this technology really is when dealing with such unpredictable water conditions.
Does anyone here have experience or insights on the challenges of sonar searching in areas with strong currents or rough waters? I'm wondering if that's why they haven't found James Metlicka and Nick Mayer yet, even with the Ralstons' expertise. Maybe it's a regional issue, or perhaps certain terrains make it less reliable? Would love to hear thoughts or any similar cases you know of that might shed some light on whether or not alternative search methods can still be effective in tricky environments.
