I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact of Carmenda Woodard’s tragic death on her family and community. Englewood has faced so much adversity, and her senseless murder serves as yet another reminder of the constant struggle those living there endure every day. I just can’t imagine the pain her loved ones are going through, grappling with such a significant loss amidst an already daunting environment. I really wish there were more resources available for communities like Englewood to help address underlying issues like poverty and lack of opportunities. These systemic problems contribute so much to the cycle of violence, and it's heartbreaking to think about the number of lives that are impacted. For Carmenda’s family, I hope they find some semblance of peace and support during such a distressing time.
