Has anyone looked into the weather conditions on the day of Katherine's plane crash? I've read that Lake Clark can have some pretty unpredictable shifts. I’m wondering if poor visibility might have played a role in what happened. Just trying to piece together how everyone got out of the aircraft, except for the three sisters. Any insights would be appreciated, especially if anyone here has experience flying in that area. It breaks my heart for the family, always hoping for some kind of closure.

I was just thinking about the crash site at Lake Clark and how challenging it must have been for the rescue teams working there. The water and ice conditions would have created an unbelievably tough scenario for recovery efforts. Does anyone know if there were specific weather conditions that day that might have made it even harder for the authorities to reach the plane? It's tragic to think about the family losing three daughters in one day, but I'm curious about the logistics of such rescue operations in such remote areas.

Something that’s been puzzling me about Katherine’s case is the emergency procedure training they might have received before flying over such a rugged area. I know small planes usually have some sort of protocol for water landings, but I’m curious if her father, as the pilot, tried to follow any specific steps before the crash? Given that both parents survived, it makes me wonder about the sequence of events. Was there ever any mention of communication from the cockpit before they went off the radar? It seems odd that three siblings couldn’t escape if there had been even the briefest moment to prepare. Does anyone have insights on what pilots are taught to do in these situations or how passengers are typically instructed to respond?
