Many people feel that more engagement between officers and residents might help build trust and possibly deter such violent events in the future. It’s important to remember that while the legal proceedings against Charles Young are essential for justice, the real goal should be ensuring something like this doesn’t happen again. If there’s a silver lining, it’s that this tragic event has sparked much-needed conversations on community safety improvements. RIP Michael Jackson, and thoughts are with his family and the others affected.
