I've read about the involvement of the Black Disciples and the Vice Lords, and it's just overwhelming to think how deep-rooted these issues can be, leading to such loss. Jamarcus was only 21, with his whole life ahead of him, and it was snatched away over something so senseless. I can't even begin to imagine the pain his family is enduring.
There needs to be more focus on intervention and prevention when it comes to gang activity. Resources and support for at-risk youth could be crucial in preventing another young life from being lost to this cycle of violence. Heartfelt prayers go out to Jamarcus's loved ones. No one should have to experience such a loss.
